Software Reviews of Microsoft Outlook 2007

Customer Review: Leaving Outlook Express in the dust
Summary: 5 Stars

Although it took a couple of weeks to learn, Office Outlook is superior to Outlook Express in every way... It has a lot more features once you learn them...

Customer Review: Great Design, Installation Issues
Summary: 3 Stars

Outlook has the right mixture of features, so much so that one would think an open source product would come along with the same (even improved) features. I had a problem with installation--corrupted profile record and/or registry defect--due to inadequate documentation and, apparently, some sort of core coding issue. It required more than a week to find a solution, ultimately getting to Microsoft phone support through an indirect manner. Support did fix the problem quickly and without charge.

Customer Review: What MS WON'T tell you!
Summary: 1 Stars

Prior to August 31, 2009 Outlook 2007 was a useful and versatile tool for managing contacts, schedules, Email etc. However, if you are an [...] user and are considering buying Outlook 2007 to expand your Office or Email capabilities I HIGHLY recommend saving your money, or changing from MSN to another ISP before purchasing this product. Microsoft changed it's MSN servers effective Sept. 1, 2009 which caused many issues effectively negating many of the reasons why you would use Outlook 2007, and are literally not supporting the problems caused to Outlook 2007 by their server changes. They're only response is to download Outlook Connector which will enable you to "use" Outlook 2007 but it will not resolve the issues with synchronizing Outlook 2007 with your MSN mailbox etc. They want to force you to use Windows Live! web based mail services which effectively removes the need or usefullness of Outlook 2007. I, as many others have been trying in vein to get resolutions from Microsoft, but they are not addressing the issues, and refuse to comment or acknowledge there even are issues. If you haven't purchased Outlook 2007 and are on MSN for your ISP and Email services, don't waste your money. Wait to see if Outlook 2010 resolves the issues, or change your ISP before buying Outlook 2007. Otherwise, you're just burning $100 for nothing. Believe me, you will spend hours and hours of time on hold at Microsoft's Tech Support phone support, or waste countless hours researching their support "solutions" only to find there is no solution as of this date (Feb. 24, 2010), and that nobody at Microsoft will acknowledge the isssues, much less offer any workable resolution that will fully recover all the features you're buying Outlook 2007 for. If you're going to use this in an office environment with an Exchange Server, and have an IT staff and internal support system, then you will be fine. Home or individual users however, have been virtually swept under the rug at this point.

Customer Review: Improved good and bad
Summary: 3 Stars

Online support continues to lack. This product could be great... but fails along the same line as preceeding Outlook products. Why are there no built in utilities to manage duplication or consolidation of messages (or if there are... where are they?)?
