I use Publisher on a regular basis and feel that the end result is much better than what I can buy off-the-shelf and of course I can personalize the messages I put into my creations so they mean much more when I give them away than a Hallmark or other namebrand item.

Publisher 2002 uses consistent menus and toolbars, the Office XP streamlined user interface, and familiar Office productivity features, including customizable toolbars, headers and footers, Print Preview, OfficeArt, and more. You can use Picture It! Photo 2002 before you add your photos to Publisher. Improve your photos and images--crop out unwanted objects, lighten or darken, add text, crop, rotate, change the background, add incorporate special effects, or remove red eye, scratches, tears, and dust. Publisher makes it easy for business users to create high-quality publications in print or online. Start with a customizable template or a blank publication. Use the publication wizard, now integrated into the Task Pane, to make quick changes, such as applying a different color scheme, font scheme, layout, or design.

Use the rich text and page layout tools to further customize. Publisher's AutoConvert feature lets users convert print-ready newsletters and brochures into ready-to-use Web sites, or convert any Web site created with the Publisher Web wizard to a print-ready brochure or newsletter. Combine four-color printing with spot-color printing and take your project to a commercial printer for just the print quality and quantity that you need.
