Customer Review: Hauling my laptop

Maybe it goes without saying (maybe it doesn't) but you need to have your laptop with you for this product to do you any good. For turn by turn directions it is VERY awkward to try to do this with a laptop in the passenger seat. If you're looking for turn-by-turn directions there are much better dash (or windshield) mounted solutions from companies like Garman (I love my Garman Nuvi).
What I like most about this software are the detailed maps that are included. I do like to print out a map of my destination point even if I'm navigating via GPS and this tool lets you do that easily. I suppose it would come in handy if I wanted to map out landmarks along my intended trip route (it has a massive POI database).

I purchased this to use on my laptop when traveling. We tried it out on a trip to Houston, Texas. It was FANTASTIC! It upgraded the road construction, it gave us good directions, and it spoke the directions so the laptop could sit in the back seat out of the way while we drove. The maps are fantastic, easy to understand and offers a lot of other features such as locating places for you like restaurants, gas stations, hospitals, police stations, and many others. The GPS gives you the driving time left in your trip, the speed you are driving, tells you if you've gotten off course. It's just great. Customer Review: Excellent Travel Aid

I am going to use this product along with a mini-notebook for an upcoming bicycle tour. The plugin USB GPS along with the updated mapping software will make an excellent guide, and an indispensible aid in travelling.
Installation is simple and easily done. I have had no problems zeroing in our my area.
