Software Reviews of Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade

Customer Review: Very Pleased
Summary: 5 Stars

The transaction was fast and the product is a great change from Vista. I am still in the process of updating several older drivers. So far, Windows 7 is working great.

Customer Review: hopefully it's a fluke...
Summary: 4 Stars

I got an insane discount on an upgrade version of Windows 7 because of my college e-mail account. I chose the 64-bit since I was running the 64-bit Vista it wouldn't let me 'downgrade' to 32-bit. The download took a little over 2 hours and I tried to 'upgrade' but had some compatibility issues. I had no problems the first day of use, I had to reinstall Firefox, my anti-virus and some other programs, no big deal. I have a little bit of computer knowledge and worked through it myself. I woke up this morning (Day 2) and ran into problems. First my laptop wouldn't recognize my wireless mouse. I switched batteries, unplugged and replugged the dongle, to no avail. Then the Windows Update popped up. I downloaded 29 updates, but when the updates began installing I got the 'blue screen of death'. I rebooted Windows and got back to the updates. 5 updates wouldn't install, with various error messages. I downloaded the System Update Readiness tool from Microsoft and ran it as directed, still 2 updates wouldn't install which made me nervous because they are both security updates. After chatting on Microsoft support for over an hour, got it down to one security update that won't install. 'Jem' at support referred it to a level 2 tech and I am waiting on their response now. Other than this one issue I really like what I have seen, the 'snap' feature is cool, especially right after upgrading, when I was transferring files from my Seagate FreeAgent Desk 1 TB USB 2.0 Desktop External Hard Drive ST310005FDA2E1-RK (Silver) back to my laptop. The task bar is a bit 'taller' than it was on Vista and the icons are a little different, but I will get used to them as I have with previous versions. I would probably be more upset if I had paid retail for the package, but since I got it so cheap I will deal with it(...or go back to Vista, not sure yet).

Customer Review: 64 bit doesnt work
Summary: 3 Stars

I have a fairly new laptop computer with windows vista 64 bit, so when i installed the 64 bit w7, my computer started crashing over and over. The only good thing is that it came with w7 32 bit edition, i installed it and i haven't had problems at all with it.

Just make sure your computer is compatible with the edition you want it to work with.

Customer Review: Windows 7: My Upgrade
Summary: 5 Stars

My windows 7 upgrade saved me 20-50 GB in memory for my disk drive. It also created a new image for my computer display, as well as a compact screen to save my desktop.

Customer Review: Gud than Vista, but upgrade price to Win7 Home is very high.
Summary: 3 Stars

Gud than Vista - for sure. But, not much satisfied for the price paid.
Moreover, Microsoft squeeeeezzzziing money who have vista installed in the systems.
I feel that, it is a curse to have Microsoft Vista already installed in your system and to go for upgrade.
I feel it is unfair.
This product of Upgrade to MS Win 7 Home is really really costing more - not worth of it.
Fresh installation of the MS Win 7 is reasonable than "Upgrade".

I don't suggest it to others for this product, unless you have really no other option to go for...
