Software Reviews of Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit English 1pkCustomer Review: vista premium home system builder disk for 1 computer Summary: 5 Stars I did not know that a SECOND disk is required-a pre-installation disk. So, I formatted the hard drive forst, then, i LOADED the Windows 7 beta trial cd that I downloaded for free from Microsoft, which PRELOADED the necessary files, as if it were a pre installation cd, or dvd, whichever-it does not matter, it worked, as the files LOADED, then, I shut down the computer, NOY installing Windows 7, but INSTALLING the Vista Premium. It installed perfectly, and registered perfectly, with Microsoft. Activation was immediately sucessful. I am very happy with the LOW price, of 99. and this NEW INSTALLATION as it was eaqsy. I had to figure out tho0ugh, HOW to get it to install without a preinstallation cd, but I found out the preinstallation cd CAN BE ORDERED for free from Microsoft. I did not want to WAIT though.
I am NOT a COMPANY, or SMA:: BUSINESS. I rebuilt this computer, and put a new system into it. (I had lost the original cd, of xp )so I needed a new one, vista media center is PERFECT for this computer, as the upgrade advisor said. As always, I am happy with this purchase from amazon, as well as all my other purchasses. Amazon is so fast to fomd what your looking for, and so convenient. trustworthy also.
Customer Review: Windows 7 - My 2 Cents Summary: 4 StarsIve used windows rc 7.100 for the last 2 months now, and found it to be just what i wanted. It runs like xp, but looks like vista with a few tweaks. installed good, but since its a release canidate, no drivers for ie8 are out yet. my hardware loaded good except for a few things that i had to hunt down, crashed a few times while i worked out the bugs, ie the suspend would crash, luckily i preordered for 49.00. seems to run on my athlon x2 6000 very fast i got a windows experience of 6.1 which im very pleased, my hp dv 9725 has a 3.2. if you have a system under 2 years old, youll be happy, older systems should stay with xp.
Customer Review: Much better than XP Summary: 5 StarsI installed Vista 64 SP1 (OEM version) on my new build. I have had no problems with it. Runs almost all my old software and hardware, including HP and Brothers Printers. Old 32 bit software including Money Plus, Microsoft Office 2003, iTunes run without problems. Plays DVD's, CD and Blu-ray movies without a problem. The OS is very stable, much better than XP, and much faster. Of course, the new machine is a much more capable configuration.
I have also run Windows 7 RC on a similar machine. Both OS systems are stable and fast. I would recommend them over XP, unless your hardware is old.

Customer Review: 64-bit Summary: 3 StarsIt seems a lot of people who comment on this don't know what hardware they have and install a 64-bit OS on a computer with 32-bit only hardware. Know what your computer is capable of before you buy this, also if you want the ability of having more than 3Gb of RAM on your computer without having to use vista, I would recommend 64-bit XP. But with XP means you use DirectX 9 instead of 10. If you want the full use of your graphics cards with DX10 and your cards don't run an OpenGL 3.0 then you will probably have to side with Vista 64-bit.
Customer Review: Wait for Windows 7 Summary: 2 StarsThis OS has many problems. It has very limited drivers, simple things like binding a second address to a NIC just doesn't work, explorer inexplicably consuming 1.5 gigs of RAM, etc, etc, etc. I finally had to put my old XP machine back in service and I find myself using it over half of the time. If all you need to do is word processing, sending emails, watch videos and surf the web this is a good OS. However, if that is all you need to do you don't need Vista 64 bit. If I were to buy my new computer again I would have paid for the XP downgrade and waited until Windows 7 comes out. XP was a very stable and easy to use OS, Vista is not and doesn't look like it ever will be.
