Software Reviews of Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition SP2B for System Builders [OLD VERSION]

Customer Review: Perfect for visualizing
Summary: 5 Stars

I use this version of Windows on a Mac with Parallels 4 to code in visual studio 2008. It works flawlessly.

Customer Review: Works very well on my MacIntosh with Parrelles to allow XP to run on Mac Intel machines
Summary: 5 Stars

Just great, was worried about OEM with possible conflicts and wanted a complete box of XP instead. Went ahead with this after reading a review on your site about a person who used it the same as I wanted to with no problems. It seems to do very well on my Mac running under program that allows both Windows and Mac OS on it. No problems so far...

Customer Review: Installed on my iMac...after a fashion
Summary: 5 Stars

Brought this for my Intel iMac based on the comments of other Mac people who installed this OEM software. It was no sweat upgrading to SP3 on the Microsoft site. One word of caution to others who install this software on Macs. When I initially started installation you come to a screen that requires that you select choices using function keys. My function keys did not work, until, I discovered that I had to set them to keypress function #s rather than volume up/down screen brightness up/down. I've used macs for years any finally learned what the fn key is used for.

Customer Review: XP for Macbook Pro
Summary: 5 Stars

Software worked as expected. Loaded very easily on the macbook pro. *****Make sure you save the registration number from the plastic wrapper. ****

I'm new to apple computers and I needed a way to use a handful of windows only programs on the macbook: ProEngineer, Quicken.

I'm using bootcamp to switch between OSX and XP and I've formatted the windows partition as NTFS. From my internet research this combination offers the most stability for xp and allows XP to utilize the full power of the mac (which I need for ProE)

I'd recommend XP+bootcamp as a must have for new mac converts to ease the transition.

Customer Review: Bad Disc
Summary: 1 Stars

This was supposed to be a builders disc but the info on it was corrupted or incomplete because it would not load and the message was "missing files" unable to proceed may corrupt etc.
