Software Reviews of Windows Vista Home Premium with SP1 [OLD VERSION]Customer Review: It's not as bad as it's made out to be Summary: 3 StarsI've been running it on my laptop for about a year now, and even as Microsoft gets ready to replace it, I have to say that it just isn't as bad as everyone says it is, at least for the kinds of uses a student of library science might have for it -- online classes, speech recognition (not great but it gets easier as you get used to it) and running Explorer 8, Opera or other browsers. Plus the games are very good, although the program has a maddening habit of going black while you're playing the games. It also runs some down-market games well, like the old Risk.
Customer Review: Decent but probably just an interim solution Summary: 4 StarsVista loaded fine and works decently, which allayed some of my a priori concerns. New bells and whistles to learn for those with lots of time on their hands. Overall, it seems to be an interim package until something better comes along next year, but for those who absolutely need/want the latest OS, this is it.
Customer Review: Its not as bad as everybody makes it out to be Summary: 4 StarsHave been running this on my laptop for months. No complaints and really I notice no real improvement over XP
Customer Review: Changes just for the sake of changes Summary: 2 StarsI get it, software designers are really cool and smart. Next time you have a good thing with a few problems, don't scrap it and start from scratch with a completely new and fresh look just because you can. Maybe fix the existing problems so you have a SUPERIOR product. Ugh! Thank you for the timely shipping, though. :)
Customer Review: Vista Summary: 1 StarsI bought this product only to have it crash my computer when I tried to install it and I had to go back to using XP. It was very disappointing.
